Due to the open system (i.e no front lens), the optics cool down faster and therefore adjust to temperature changes more quickly. This is important as closed systems such as Schmidt Cassegrain designs can need regular re-focusing due to temperature differences.
The extremely short length of only 650mm makes the telescope very transportable. Vixen has a unique aluminum vacuum evaporation system that creates extremely precise mirror surfaces and the revolutionary Vixen system allows the controlled coating of the primary mirror achieving incredibly high contrast and detail. This same coating is also used in both the VMV200/VC200L and the R200SS.
