Eco-Friendly Shipping: Because Our Planet Matters Most
At Horizon Astronomy, we look to the stars but keep our feet firmly planted on a healthy Earth.
We actively minimize our carbon footprint by running energy-efficient facilities and by stripping away unnecessary packaging. Rest assured, your delicate optics and astronomy equipment remain perfectly protected - we just use smarter, greener materials to get them safely to your eyepiece.
Here are some of the key ways we try to achieve this:
- Cardboard Packaging: We use only cardboard packaging and paper based outer materials (No plastic mail bags).
- Reuse, Reuse: In many cases we reuse outer boxes where possible to cut down on additional waste.
- No to Plastic: We try to reduce the use of any kind of plastic packaging to an absolute minimum. All our packing fillers are paper based, no more plastic bubble-wrap or plastic air pockets. (This doesn't apply to items in original sealed packaging from the manufacturer as they may use their own plastic packing materials inside).
- Paperless Invoicing: Our packing slips and invoices are now sent in digital format when you place your order so we no longer include these with each order (The only exceptions are items being shipped outside the EU, in this case Invoices must be included for customs reasons)
- ECO Printing: Orders that do contain marketing material or our own special instructional material for setting up and using your equipment are printed by Carbon-Balanced Printing (Partnering with eco-certified local printers)
