The Pegasus Astro Falcon Rotator V2 is a light-weighted, low profile camera field rotator. Its very easy to operate via ASCOM drivers or by using standalone software which will make your life much easier by allowing you to automatically adjust your exact camera field of view with precision.
Operating the Falcon Rotator V2 is a seamless experience, thanks to its compatibility with classic ASCOM, native ASCOM Alpaca drivers and the Unity Platform software. This user-friendly design simplifies the process of automatically and precisely orienting your camera field, making your astrophotography endeavors significantly more convenient and efficient.
M68 threads on both sides and low profile:
Both sides of the rotator are M68 threaded, so it is possible to use large sensors without vignetting. The thickness of the rotator is just 15.5mm and the weight only 700g, but it can handle a 6kg payload.
Adapters for both sides:
There are adapters for many common threads available which can be purchased separately.
Precise rotation:
A powerful geared / low backlash stepper motor ensures that the rotator will lock to the designated degree angle. High quality mechanical components inside the focuser prevent flexure at any point during a full circle rotation.
High rated load:
Falcon Rotator V2 has been tested at 6Kg (13lbs) of imaging setup. The mechanical design allows it to custom tighten internal bearing so it can easily handle higher payloads with almost zero flexure.
One Cable Operation:
The rotator can be connected with a USB-C cable for both power and data, reducing complexity in your telescope setup. Additionally, it´s Wi-Fi enabled, allowing you to control your field rotation remotely from your mobile phone.
Field De-Rotation support for Alt/Az mounts:
The rotator has the mechanical precision to achieve field de-rotation. The supplied Unity Platform calculates Rate of Rotation (RoR) based on the site latitude, target altitude and azimuth position. By fine-tuning the micro-step drive control of the motor, derotation can achieve a resolution as precise as 5 arc-seconds.
ASCOM & INDI support:
The rotator is fully ASCOM 6 supported. INDI support will follow by the time of the launch.
Standalone software:
Control the Falcon Rotator with the supplied standalone Windows software.
