Solar observation in H-alpha is the most spectacular way to see the suns constantly changing features, including Sunspots, Solar Flares and other features on its surface.
The LS50THa solar telescope is a 50mm Aperture, 350mm Focal Length solar telescope which provides a bandwidth of <0.75 Angstrom. The telescope is fitted as standard with an air-pressure tuning system "Pressure-Tuner" and the Etalon is safely installed inside the telescope. Prominences and surface detail can quickly be viewed spontaneously over a bigger area than the smaller 40mm telescopes.
A B600 blocking filter is installed inside the star diagonal and this filter is good for visual solar observations - Telescope focusing is achieved by a non rotational Helical focuser.
Note: Lunt 50mm Solar telescopes come with B400 & B600 filters with the larger ones providing a wider field of view and less shading on the edges. These telescopes are ideal of visual observation of the Sun however as they have a very small back focus, only cameras with a very sort distance to the sensor can be used for photography.
Double-stacking with a bandwidth of only <0.5 Angstrom is also possible by using an additional LS50C filter. This filter threads directly onto the LS50THa telescope and will provide even more contrast and details on the sun's surface.
