The 102mm aperture collects a lot of light from deepspace objects and its very short focal ratio of about F/4.5 mean that you will enjoy an extra-bright image - a huge advantage when viewing faint galaxies millions of light years away.
This also gives the telescope a resolving power that easily allows more magnifications of up to about x200 while maintaining sharp views. However its important to point out that the degree of magnification achievable does not only depend on your telescope. The air turbulence in the atmosphere (seeing conditions) also influences the maximum magnification you can achieve on any given night.
