The Vixen Porta II A80MF telescope set includes everything you need to get started in Astronomy. The A80MF is an Achromatic Refractor which offers very good color correction and is ideal for observing the moon and planets but is also suitable for viewing some of the brighter nebula and galaxies such as Orion or Andromeda.
The unrivalled clarity of Refractor telescopes is always one of their main positive features and a view of lunar surface with the crater landscapes will be an unforgettable experience.
The A80Mf refractor is Vixens entry-level model for astronomy newcomers who value high quality optics and craftmanship. The 80mm lenses deliver excellent quality, and also included is two Plössl eyepieces (6.3 mm and 20 mm) and a 90° diagonal mirror.
The 6x24 viewfinder makes finding targets in the night sky very quick and easy and the T2 thread permanently installed on the focuser allows a connection for your DSLR camera with an optional T adapter for the camera
The Porta II mount is very popular with beginners, but also offers experienced astronomers the opportunity to mount their devices quickly and easily as part of a grab-and-go setup. The Porta II does not require clamping, as it has a slip clutch, which makes it easy to adjust the mount with fine tune increments to center on an object. It then automatically holds your position making it super easy for anyone to use.
Grip positions as well as height and azimuth slow motion controls can be changed in 45° increments. This allows the user to use the handles on the mount for a more comfortable position. The accessory holder is provided with cut-outs for your eyepieces.
It can also be used to hold smaller photo accessories. The holder is mounted via a centrally mounted screw and a built-in
key is included to be able to adjust the friction of the slip clutch.
