This TS-Optics adaptor for correctors is specifically designed for the TS-Optics UNC focuser M65 x 1 thread. Many Astrophotographers prefer a threaded connection because lateral clamping can sometimes tilt the corrector or flattener. This causes distorted stars in corners and makes the image look unasthetic.
The 2" UNC focusers from TS-Optics has an M65 x 1 thread at the end of the 2" draw tube. With this Adapter you are able to attach correctors and reducers without the need for clamping for a tighter fit and better precision.
Correctors with M48 x 0.75 thread connection:
The adapter is screwed on the corrector´s M48 thread. The female thread of the adapter is only 2mm long which means you have plenty of space because the thread of correctors tends to be around 4-5mm long. Then, the corrector is simply threaded onto the UNC focuser.
Baader MPCC Coma corrector:
Simply remove the protection ring of the corrector to reveal the M48x0.75 thread. Then you thread the adaptor onto the corrector. Now you can screw both into the UNC focuser. The MPCC´s T2 thread can then be used for the rest of your image train.
Corrector and flattener with T2 thread:
Correctors with the smaller M42 x 0.75 connection thread can also be threaded onto UNC focusers. Insert the corrector into the draw tube, then tighten the TS65-M48i adapter which secures the corrector. The adaptor now has the same function as a retaining ring.
