Askar is the new line of specialised telescopes for astrophotography with particular emphasis on optical and also mechanical quality.

The Anotation 'FRA' represents refractor telescopes with an integrated corrector element for a flat and corrected field of view. The FRA series is mainly used for astrophotography.
The ASKAR FRA400 is a Petzval 5-element Apochromat with 400mm focal length, f/5.6 focal ratio and 72mm aperture. 2 ED glasses are installed in the front lens for improved colour correction. This APO is also suitable for cameras up to full frame sized sensors.

The dew cap also provides good protection against stray light and is retractable. The large focuser also holds heavy cameras and allows for precise focusing thanks to the microfocus adjustment wheel. A 2", 1.25" and an M68x1 thread are available for additional connections. Also included with this telescope is an adapter up to M48 x 0.75, which is ideal for all cameras with a standard 55mm working distance.

Note: To access the female M48 thread for 2" filters, unscrew the adapter.
