TS-PHOTON 254/1016 mm Advanced Newtonian:
At this level of aperture, things definitely start to get serious, not only for visual Astronomers but also for Astrophotography too. At 10" aperture, the details on both solar system targets as well as small deep sky galaxies start to get really clear, bright and sharp. Having this much light gathering power means the image will be both bright and higher resolution.
However at this size, the Mount becomes even more critical and it is important to choose a Mount that can comfortably handle the OTA Payload weight and also any additional accessories.
Features of the TS-PHOTON Newtonian telescopes:
- Bright parabolic optics with excellent contrast and very good sharpness for planetary observation and deep sky observation.
- High-quality 2" MONORAIL focuser with 1:10 micro reduction for 2" and 1.25" accessories.
- Extra long focus distance (98 mm from the 2" receptacle) for long coma correctors such as the TS GPU Superflat or the 2" Reducer Corrector TS2Korr.
- All common 1.25" and 2" eyepieces can be used without any problems, but they require
- An 80 mm extension sleeve for observation
- Brighter image through forced 94% mirroring on main and secondary mirrors.
- Focus motor can be retrofitted at any time.
- A 0.5 mm thin stainless steel secondary mirror spider provides stability this also creates delicate and sharp spikes around bright stars.
- Adjustable primary mirror mount and secondary mirror mount completely made of metal.
- Aperture: 254 mm (10")
- Focal length: 1016 mm
- Focal ratio: F/4
- Primary mirror: Parabolic primary mirror with 94% forced reflection and quartz protection layer
- Secondary mirrors: 88 mm small axis with 94% forced reflection and quartz protection layer
- 100% illuminated field of view: 25 mm - ideal for APS-C format sensors with matching coma corrector
- 90% illuminated field of view: 38 mm - therefore also suitable for larger sensors (flats useful)
- Resolving power: 0.46 arc seconds
- Limit size visual: 14.7 mag
- Focuser: 2" monorail focuser with 1/10 micro reduction, adapter to 1.25" and ring clamps
- Weight of the tube: 14.8 kg with clamps and viewfinder
- Dimensions of the tube: Length 980 mm, diameter 303 mm
- Tube material: Steel
