This Polar Wedge fits the Celestron Nexstar 6/8 SE telescopes & Evolution 6/8 Telescopes, It transforms these popular telescopes into mobile platforms for astrophotography. The total weight of the Polar Wedge is 7.5kg.
The NexStar Telescopes are generally suitable for astrophotography with longer exposure times. In azimuthal mode, tracking is achieved by movement in both axes, which is not a problem for visual observation. However, in astrophotography, a field rotation becomes noticeable after just one minute of exposure time, which initially distorts the stars at the edge of the field into lines.
The polar wedge eliminates this problem. It aligns the telescope's azimuth axis to the celestial pole, allowing tracking to be performed solely with the azimuth motor (there is an adjustment option in the hand controller), eliminating the need for field rotation. The wedge can be used worldwide and the tilt angle can initially be roughly adjusted using the scale, and then easily and precisely fine-tuned by hand using the fine-tuning screws with large adjustment knobs. The telescope can be easily mounted by just one person. First, attach a screw to the base and then use this screw to hook it into the paths. Then, the other two screws are inserted and tightened with an Allen key.
