These color filters are specifically designed to highlight fine surface details of a planet or its cloud structure. All ofthe planetary filters included in the Celestron Lunar and Planetary Filter Set can be used with any 1.25" eyepiece that has a standard filter thread, making them very versatile - Simply screw a filter on to your chosen eyepiece and insert it into the focuser.
This Celestron filter set contains the following colors:

12 Dark Yellow - A good universal filter for telescopes with smaller apertures (less than 4.5"). The yellow filter improves contrast when observing the Moon. It also helps to see the cloud bands on Jupiter and Saturn, as well as clouds and the polar ice caps on Mars and the atmospheric structures on Uranus and Neptune.

21 Orange - Improves the visibility of plains on Mars by reducing blue and green light. It also enhances the perception of detail in cloud bands and polar regions on Jupiter and Saturn.

80A Blue - Increases the contrast of cloud bands on Jupiter and polar ice caps on Saturn. It can also be used to increase contrast on the Moon if you don't mind the color shift.
- ND-96-0.3 Neutral Density Filter - A great filter for the Moon and for combining with other planetary filters to reduce brightness without altering color. A neutral density filter, it is also useful for resolving double stars. Use it whenever you want to reduce brightness without affecting an object's color properties.
Each Celestron 1.25" filter has a 26mm clear aperture and is mounted in a black anodized aluminum barrel with threads on both ends. These dual threads allow you to combine different filters to adjust the transmission percentage. Special coatings on each filter protect against reflections, ghosting, and scratches. A plastic case is also included to keep your filters safe when not in use.
