This Solar Film mount kit is designed for the TS61 EDPH & Sharpstar 61 EDPH Refractors but will work with other small refractors with an external dew shield diameter of between 80 and 90mm (Note: not to be confused with the telescope aperture size).
This is a mount assembly kit only and must be used with an approved 'Solar Film' such as the Baader Solar Safety Film here. This will enable you to make your own solar filter for your Telescope and allow you to capture large Solar spots, Solar Eclipses and ISS transits etc. using a camera.
How to use:
The Mount kit consists of an outer housing assembly and an inner ring. Simply cut the approved Solar film to the dimensions of the inner ring and using double sided tape, fix the film to the ring and slide it into the housing - (Film side facing away from the optics so the film is compressed between the inner ring and the housing). We recommend using double sided tape to fix it in place if necessary.
IMPORTANT: Please make note of the following safety notes:
- Make sure that you use only 'Approved Solar Film' with this kit that is suitable for photography, such as Baader Solar Safety Film or equivalent.
- Make sure the Solar film covers the entire inner ring and there are no gaps, scratches or holes in the film which can enter the telescope lens.
- Make sure the Solar filter mount is fitted and TAPED SECURELY to your telescope before pointing it at the Sun.
- Always read the safety instructions which come with your Solar Film carefully.
NEVER look at the sun with your naked eyes without the use of an approved Solar filter.

Note: The cosmetic finish on 3D printed items will vary and will not be as polished or smooth as metal items. It is not uncommon to have imperfections such as lines, or inconsistent surface finishes, particularly on flat surfaces. However, these have no functional impact on the use of the item.
3D printed items should not be exposed to very high operating temperatures (for example, left in storage in hot metal sheds or cars during extreme heat etc. Although they are very durable, prolonged exposure to high levels of heat can damage them).
