TS-Optics 12" f/8 RC Ritchey-Chrétien Telescope with Carbon Truss Tube:

This telescope is optimized for astrophotography in fixed installations such as observatories. The tube is supplied with carbon connecting rods, which on the one hand are light weight but also have a favorable expansion behavior resulting from changing temperatures. The tube weight is around 30kg and the tube comes with a Losmandy-level dovetail rail on both sides. With a length of approx. 850mm, the 12" RC is still suitable for compact private or professional observatories.

The 12" f/8 RC astrograph illuminates about 70 mm field very well and without a corrector lens, a field with a diameter of approx. 35 mm with very good correction is available.

The advantages of TS-Optics RC telescopes at a glance:

  1. Hyperbolic primary mirror and secondary mirror for a large fully corrected field of view.
  2. Astrophotography with camera sensors up to 30 mm in diameter is also possible without a corrector. For larger sensors, e.g full-frame, there are ready-made correctors available.
  3. 99% mirroring and dielectric coating on primary and secondary mirrors for an even brighter image.
  4. Significantly faster cooling time due to open design and active primary mirror ventilation.
  5. Inner bezels in the tube for even more contrast.
  6. Large back focus for correctors, reducers or binoculars.
  7. High-quality 3" MONORAIL focuser with M77 x 0.75 female thread on the pull-out tube and M74 x 0.75 male thread and 2" / 1.25" plug connection.

Astrophotography through the RC telescope:
Due to the large corrected field of view of the RC telescopes, you can, shoot with DSLR cameras up to APS-C format without a corrector. To shoot directly in focus, you'll need the M117 x 1 extension sleeves that are included. These are screwed between the telescope and the focuser and thus reduce the back focus. The generous back focus also allows the connection of correctors, which we recommend when using use of full-frame sensors.

You can also connect a focal length reduction, which further increases the light intensity by reducing the f ratio. You can clamp the camera directly via the 2" receptacle or you can screw everything via the threads of the focuser.
Suitable adapters can be found in the accessories area.
