An extremely popular choice for quality-conscious planetary photographers - The ZWO ASI224MC features a 1/3" 1.2 megapixel IMX224 sensor equipped with SONY Exmor and NIR technology.

The comparatively small sensor, extremely low readout noise (1.5 e), high sensitivity even in the NIR range and a very high achievable frame rate make this camera a good choice for planetary imagers.

The camera is mainly suited for planetary photography, but because of its exposure time of up to 1000 seconds, it can also be used to a certain extent for deep sky - especially smaller targets.
Most sensors will have amp-glow problem only if you do long-time exposure captures. This camera benefits from “amp glow reduction technology”, which  is a hardware modification to reduce the amp-glow of the sensor.

Infrared Photography & Methane Tape:
This camera comes with a clear glass protection filter that also allows infrared to pass through. The extended infrared sensitivity allows it to be used in infrared photography with the optional ZWO IR-Pass filter.

Note:  This camera is IR Sensitive so if you want to take advantage of planetary photography in the IR range, you will need an IR pass filter that blocks visible light but allows infrared to pass. This results in much sharper details being visible.
USB 3.0 Port & ST4 Port:
