The standard eyepiece that comes with the '150 \u003cem\u003eDobsonian Telescope'\u003c\/em\u003e is a 25mm Plossl eyepiece. This is a great eyepiece for viewing star fields, some deepspace objects and some nice views of the moon. However for viewing the Planets, a higher powered eyepiece is recommended. The 12mm and 6mm eyepieces included in this pack will offer exceptionally more detailed views of the Moon, revealing the shadows cast from some of the higher mountain peaks and deep craters. They will also help to bring the larger planets such as Jupiter and Saturn a little closer in view, starting to reveal Saturns rings, and Jupiter's cloud bands more clearly. Under good viewing and steady skies some very faint details on Mars can also be seen.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eMoon \u0026amp; Planetary Filters -\u003c\/strong\u003e The first thing you will notice when viewing the Moon through a Telescope without a filter is that its extremely bright, so much so that it can be uncomfortable on your eyes and also wash out a lot of the finer details. This specially designed 'Moon filter' dramatically reduces this glare making it much more comfortable to view and also reveals much more contrast and details from its surface.
